TRCCF Gateway Youth and Family Services operates a Therapeutic Residential Child Care Facility (TRCCF), foster homes, Day Treatment (educational program), inpatient and outpatient, individual, family and group therapy programs. Our TRCCF provides inpatient and outpatient treatment for juveniles who have sexually acted out and is listed/approved by the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board.
RTC Services Within our TRCCF, we offer inpatient juvenile sex offender treatment, anger management, independent living skills, impulse control, social skills, stress management, individual and family therapies. The youth participate in approximately 12 hours of face-to-face treatment on a weekly basis and then are living 24/7 within a generalized treatment milieu. We are committed to local youth within the 7th Judicial District, designating no more than two beds at a time to youth who are outside of the 7th Judicial District. Our family therapy program is highly intensive and collaborative, offering families very similar services as their child is receiving inpatient.
Our youth participate in community activities, affording the youth and the agency purposeful and meaningful measure of the level of their personal skills and the strength of those skills. We conduct polygraphs on a bi-yearly basis. The youth must first pass a polygraph in order to have unsupervised community contact with their families. Before polygraphs are passed, and we are afforded all of the information necessary for safety planning, they only are allowed to be in the community with a treatment team member and to visit their families on site.
There is a structured living and treatment routine for each day of the week. The youth are placed within a Level system and are afforded the opportunity one time a month to apply for an increase in Level. This is done through a group process and each youth must make a presentation about themselves, the work they have been working on and what they are committed to working on and changing for the next month.
Each month we have Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings. These meetings are conducted in a collaborate effort with the youth, their families and all professionals attached to each child’s treatment and community of origin. Some professionals that typically participate are: probation, case workers, victim advocates/therapists, CASA volunteers, GAL’s and school professionals.
Mission Gateway Youth and Family Services is committed to serving local youth and their families with an emphasis on family systems. We operate from the systems perspective; meaning that we do not simply focus on the individual that is placed in our care, but we identify the systems and resources that are in place for that individual and work with as much of that system as possible. We are committed to placing youth in the lowest level of care and providing inclusive services for each individual and their family. We aim to keep youth in crisis out of institutional or correctional care. We believe that youth need to learn how to cope and live productively in a community and within a “home-like” setting to be offered the best chances at success within their community and home environment post discharge. We hope to increase the quality of life for families and communities in which they live and create our treatment programs with that in mind.
Population Our Residential Treatment Center and Day Treatment Program are licensed for 16 male youth ages 12-21. Foster Homes are licensed for males and females birth to 18 years old.
